April 6th

Testerazo Mexico

I kind of love this place.

Just got back from 2 weeks in Mexico with my sons Jeff & Brad & my Church group. We had the privalege of working with Yolanda Villalobos, a lady that cares for the children of the migant workers in the small town of Testeroso. We had the chance to work with along side number some great Mexican friends. Together we constucted a Bodega for the Community of Testerazo and the migrant workers. It will serve as a storehouse for food clothing and laundry facilities. Pastor Juan (on left) the local Pastor who is finishing his Studies in Tecate, will live as caretaker in the bodega. Right now he lives in a 13' Travel Trailer on the bodega property.
La Bodega goes up.The Building inpectors are really easy to deal with in Mexico! This is our team of Gringos and Mexicans that put this place up. A very special thanks to every one who contrbuted prayer and financial support to this ministry. Lake Country Church is planning on having a summer trip to give Yolanda's worker a break so if you are interested in spending a week or two in Testerazo I can hook you up.
EL Faro
The orpanage in El Faro was one of the first building projects I was involed in in Mexico this is the place where perpective on life changed. It is always a Blast at Miguel & Gutalupe's orphanage. They now have 40 Children staying with them. This year again we had the privilege of working with some of the boys at the Testerazo project.

The Home
The Family Always someone to greet you at El Faro. Hola Amigo
We had the chance again to throw a party for the kids again, it was one of the hightlights.
March 21st Heading Back to Mexico after a week and a half back home in Canada. I,m excited my boys Jeff and Brad are going to join with me working in Testerazo. We will be building a bodega or storage building for the supplies and laundry for migrant workers camp that houses 1500-2000 workers from all over Mexico. Last year I had the blessing of helping build a nursery building there. In August Susan Rio Greg Tara and I stopped in to see the camp filled with workers and of course their children. We saw maybe twenty infants lying on the cool concrete floor because it was 44 degrees that day. We met with Yolondas team of ladies that lovingly care for the workers children while they are in the fields. The workers are basically homeless as they move from camp to camp as the crops mature. Our church has adopted the group and their ministry. I want to thank all those who have contributed financally to this project. Yolonda is an amazing woman of God she cares deeply for this community and the migrant workers and families. This is a place that we will continue to return to in the future so plan to come with us next trip. You can follow us on this web site http://elroi-thegodwhosees.blogspot.com/ Check it out. Our next post will be in Mexico Providing we can get internet access. Might only get a couple bloggs off.
